Born and raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma, her upbringing in a family deeply rooted in faith with her grandfather being a pastor and her mother a Worship leader, played a significant role in shaping her passion for ministry.

She pursued her education at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, where she earned a degree in Family and Child Studies. During her time at Cameron University, she actively engaged in various activities that furthered her passion for ministry and community work. She served as an intern for the Cameron Wesley Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting students and fostering their spiritual growth.

Additionally, she took on leadership roles as a youth director at St. Paul United Methodist in Anadarko from 2011 to 2014, and later at Cache First United Methodist from 2014 to 2016. These positions allowed her to impact and guide young people in their spiritual journeys.

Alongside her involvement in the church, Jalyn pursued her other interests. She took on the role of Director for the Miss Black Cameron University pageant, empowering and celebrating young women in their achievements. She also founded her own dance company called "Divine Divas Dance Company," showcasing her talent and passion for dance.

In recognition of her accomplishments and dedication to her community, Jalyn received the prestigious title of Miss Black Oklahoma America in 2020, an honor that further amplified her platform to make a positive impact on others.

Beyond her personal achievements, Jalyn actively serves as a lay servant for the United Methodist Conference, exemplifying her commitment to serving others through her faith.
